SoCal Teacher Found Dead In Apparent Suicide; Was Upset Over LATimes Performance Database

The body of a teacher in Southern California who had been missing for several days was found yesterday in Angeles National Forest.  He had apparently jumped from a bridge in the park.

Doctor In Critical Condition After Being Shot At Johns Hopkins In Baltimore

Late Thursday morning a doctor from Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, MD was shot on the eighth floor of a hospital building. The suspect barricaded himself in one of the rooms on that floor.

Police said the doctor is in critical condition, but the injuries are not life threatening.

Some of the building where the shooting took place is on lockdown and area streets have been closed as authorities try to subdue the suspect.
