"Law & Order" Mock Front Page Ad In L.A. Times Stirs Controversy

NBC Universal purchased ads in newspapers across the country that ran as mock sections ahead of Wednesday night's series premiere of the television show Law & Order: Los Angeles.

The L.A. Times used the insert as a mock front-page, confusing some readers with the headline "MEDIA ICON HIT BY CRIME WAVE."

The N.Y. Times had the section as an insert and without the newspaper's usual branding at the top.
