LAX Shooter Released From Hospital

The suspect in the LAX shooting who killed a TSA officer and injured two others earlier this month was released from the hospital on Monday and placed in federal custody.

Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23, was released from Ronald Reagan-UCLA Medical Center on Monday and placed in federal custody, according to a spokeswoman from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Ciancia was shot in the head and leg during a shootout with police. He had recently been upgraded from critical to fair condition. UCLA confirmed that the final patient from the LAX shooting on November 1st was released, but would not disclose the name of that individual.

Ciancia has been charged in the murder of TSA officer Gerardo Hernandez along with other charges stemming from the November 1st shooting at LAX's Terminal 3.

Hernandez's memorial service at the LA Memorial Sports Arena last week drew several hundred who came to mourn the loss of the well-respected and amicable TSA officer.

A court date for Ciancia has not been set.
