On Monday, HBO released a promo for season four of “Girls.”

Lena Dunham says that this season is about the girls making right choices and still realizing that life is hard.

The sneak peek gives us a tiny glimpse about what each of the four girls are up to. Hannah and Elijah head up to Iowa for Hannah’s writers workshop and attend a frat party (crazy dance moves will be seen), Marnie and Desi are still having an affair while pursuing music as a career.

Marnie says, “If you guys are really lucky maybe I’ll scat for you, do a little rap.”

We saw Marnie musically make a fool of herself last season, and it will probably happen again judging by that sentence.

Dunham also says, “We tried to take it to a new notch with Marnie singing embarrassing songs in public places.”

Marnie seems reckless when it comes to her love life, so her affair with Desi (who still has his girlfriend who confronted Marnie in the bathroom last season) is likely to be shaky this season.

Watching the promo, Jessa seems to be her free-spirited same self, and Shoshanna’s parents are in for the ride (her mother is played by Ana Gasteyer).

Last season ended with Shoshanna being ineligible to walk for graduation and the whole gang going to see Adam’s play. Hannah breaks the news to Adam that she got accepted to Iowa for her graduate school program. The new season will show her and Adam trying to keep it together while being apart.

This season is going to take a turn while the characters slowly drift apart to do what they want in life, all while the show keeps them together, following what they will do next. Despite the change in direction of the show, we know we will see two things this season: girls and drama. What would the show be without them?

Guest stars for season four, aside from Ana Gasteyer, include Zachary Quinto, Gillian Jacobs, Marc Maron and Jake Lacy
