After every finale, “Pretty Little Liars” fans wait impatiently for the Halloween special. Well, not this time around.

Instead of having a Halloween episode, the cast and crew put together a different type of special: "Love You To DeAth," a tribute to the fans.

The hour consisted of interviews of the cast and crew discussing favorite episodes, scenes and what the journey on the show has been like. We were able to see Ian Harding (Mr. Fitz) and Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery) discuss their on-and-off-screen chemistry. Harding says the first few episodes that had romantic scenes had them brushing their teeth and flossing before the cameras would role. Now, they feel comfortable enough to just do their thing without all the extra preparation.

The girls of the cast talked boys—how handsome they are in reality just as they are on the show, and how goofy they are behind the scenes. They also talked about which characters they wish they had more scenes with. Troian Bellisario said she would want more scenes with Lindsey Shaw (Paige).

The interviews also showed clips of fans crying, screaming and talking to their TV screens as they watch the show.

Author and executive producer I. Marlene King said that the show isn’t necessarily scary, but it’s the tension that adds to the scariness and keeps people tuned in.

For fans who expected to see an actual Halloween episode premiere last night, with interviews of the cast and crew shown during commercial breaks, the night wasn't what they hoped for. Instead, they got a complete hour of interviews with other commercial breaks. Though it might have been a disappointment, don't be too upset just yet.

The commericials leading to the film also made it seem like unanswered questions would finally be answered, which of course, were not. But, it kept the viewers watching.

The tribute was more like a segment about getting to know the cast and crew. It felt like you were sitting in the room with the cast discussing the craziest scenes on the show, including Jessica DiLaurentis and Mona's deaths. Sasha Pieterse (Allison) also talks about what it's like to be buried alive. We also see other dead characters like Garrett Reynolds (Yani Gellman) and Ian Thomas (Ryan Merriman).

The last few minutes of the hour were dedicated to showing a brief preview of the Christmas special, which premieres Dec. 9.

King also added that the series will not drag on or end with fans knowing who A is. She says that fans will know who A is before season seven. That's still a whole season or so to go!

If fans missed the interviews, they can catch up on ABC Family’s website. Perhaps the Christmas special will start a new, refreshing tradition of specials during December rather than sticking to the Halloween-themed episodes each year. Recall, that the finale of season five ended with the liars getting ready for the winter holidays.
