Residents were forced to evacuate the Northern California mountainous region Thursday after a wildfire, dubbed the King Fire, doubled in size overnight.

El Dorado County police arrested and charged a man with arson, for allegedly starting the fire.

The suspect, Wayne Allen Huntsmen, 37, is being held with $10 million in bail.

Firefighters have only contained about 5 percent of the blaze, which is the largest of 11 fires now burning in the region, according to Reuters.  The fire has covered 70,000 acres in the El Dorado National Forest since Wednesday, causing Governor Jerry Brown to declare a state of emergency.

More than 3,300 firefighters are working to contain the King Fire.
