It's almost that time! The biggest night in music is just around the corner, and that means we can expect to see a variety of fashions on this year's red carpet. When the stars get creative, the looks can range from insanely glamorous to extremely wacky. To prepare, let's take a walk down memory lane and reminisce about the best and worst dressed ladies in Grammys history.

Best Dressed:

Katy Perry

The pop star is absolutely breathtaking on the red carpet in this pastel pink Basil Soda gown at the 2009 Grammys. She looks like a modern-day princess as she effortlessly channels old Hollywood glamour.

The "Glee" starlet kept it simple and elegant for the 2010 Grammys in a flirty Romona Keveza dress with a little flair. The feathery skirt adds a unique twist to the classic dark navy dress, and it complements her slim figure beautifully.

J.Lo unleashed her inner diva for the 2011 Grammys in this sexy Emilio Pucci minidress. The superstar flaunted her bronzed skin and toned gams as she worked the red carpet like a pro. Sparkly Christian Louboutins and icy diamonds completed the showstopping ensemble.

The German bombshell was a vision in gold at the 2011 Grammys in this slinky Julien MacDonald creation. The gilded dress accentuates all of her assets and hugs her curves in all the right places.

The Barbados beauty was stunning in this red Azzedine Alaïa masterpiece at the 2013 Grammys. The color popped against her skintone and the subtle mesh panels added a subtle touch of sensuality. With her matching red lips and soft waves, RiRi ruled the carpet last year.

The country crooner is a Grecian goddess in this ethereal J. Mendel gown at the 2013 Grammys. The cream and metallic design is chic and classy, yet she still brings the sex appeal with a plunging neckline and thigh high slits. Eat your heart out, Harry Styles!

Kelly Rowland was center stage in this sultry Georges Chakra dress at the 2013 Grammys. The former Destiny's Child singer seriously pushed the envelope with strategically placed sheer cutouts that left very little to the imagination. Luckily, she pulled it off flawlessly without any catastrophic wardrobe malfunctions.

Jenny caused a media frenzy when she showed up to the 2000 Grammys in this silk, floral Versace ensemble. The extreme plunging neckline and scandalous sheerness make it one of the most memorable designs in history. However, that doesn't change the fact that the "dress" is little more than a fancy bathrobe.

X-Tina has never been one to shy away from unique fashions, even in the early stages of her career. For the 2001 Grammys, she chose to be different and fell short in this rose Trish Summerville dress with a lace-up neckline and matching bra. Throw in the gold gladiator heels and exotic braids, and it's just one big mess.

The singer picked this Richard Tyler creation for the 2001 Grammys, where she picked up an award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. At least she was a winner in one respect that night because this ill-fitting dress is a major loss.

Alicia Keys

We're not quite sure what Alicia Keys was thinking when she decided on this Christian Dior outfit for the 2002 Grammys. With the heavy Swarovski crystal eye makeup, hooded wrap and embroidered jeans, she appears to have dressed in the dark. She did justify her choice by saying, "Out of the box is my theme tonight." Mission, accomplished.

M.I.A.

M.I.A. was a major trooper when she attended and performed at the 2009 Grammys 9-months pregnant. Unfortunately, this House of Holland polka-dot getup that highlights her breasts and belly in the weirdest way overshadowed that feat.

"It's Lioness meets her cub, meets fierce-osity meets fabulosity meets runway, meets everything, darling," Nicki Minaj said of the Givenchy ensemble that she wore to the 2011 Grammys. We think it's "The Lion King" meets "The Flintstones" meets "Bride of Frankenstein."

This is just too painful to watch because RiRi always has so many hits on the red carpet. But this frilly, see-through, striped Jean Paul Gaultier gown from the 2011 Grammys still has us scratching our heads. "I pretty much snatched it off the runway," she said. Perhaps, you should have put it back.
