In the '90s our favorite Disney Stars, Corey and Toganga, were pushed out by teenage spy Jett Jackson who was later pushed out when Lizzie, Miranda, and Gordo entered in the early 2000s.

Soon after came Raven’s moment of fame, which peaked with the Cheetah Girls, but was knocked out by "High School Musical" soon after.

Within the late 2000s, we adored the twins who lived the “Suite Life” and the Jonas Brothers, who stole our hearts in "Camp Rock."

Now these boys are just fragments of memories as the new Disney Generation of the 2010s, complete with a talking dog who blogs, dominates the stage. In hopes of continuing their careers, many of the Disney Channel alumni have made attempts to transition from acting to music.

It is very rare for a Disney Star to successfully make the transition from child thespian to top 40 musician without getting caught in a trap battling the morality of the image they have chosen to display post-Disney child star. Selena Gomez was one of the few who was able to successfully make that jump.

What made Selena so different from her Disney colleague’s attempts at fame outside of Disney was her ability to make a gradual transition from the edgy Alex Russo we all knew from "Wizards of Waverly Place" to the classy and sophisticated young woman whom still as an edgy side we all know today. In other words, Selena did not give us a shocking media story that left our mouths wide open and our heads shaking.

After her time with "Wizards of Waverly Place" she moved on to guest star on other Disney shows while working on her Selena Gomez and the Scene project.

Rather than jumping into the music scene and rebelling against all of the morals she set for her image while at Disney (unlike her Disney colleague that “could not be tamed” during her transition to the music industry… you know who), Selena kept a clean and sweet sound with her band’s hits “Naturally” and  “Love You Like a Love Song,” each song making the Billboard top 40.

Instead of swinging on stripper polls during performances, Selena opted for a fun child friendly image, while tailoring her sound for an older audience.

Gomez kept a positive image in the face of the media, staying out of trouble while other Disney stars around this time of the transition partied a bit too hard and were exposed by leaked photos to the media. Her romance with Justin Beiber earned her even more love from fans who adored the young heartthrob. Gomez also kept very busy outside of the music industry with her film "Monte Carlo" and now "Spring Breakers."

Gomez’s “Come and Get It” made a true mark on the young artist’s success. The song peaked at the No. 6 spot on the Billboard Top 100. With the premiere of the music video in May of this year, fans got a taste of the new, all grown up Selena Gomez.

Unlike the previous videos where the starlet bounced to pop music, the Bollywood inspired music video exhibited Gomez’s sex appeal where she flaunted her glistening curves with sexy dance moves in a collection of sheer gowns exposing more skin than usual in a tasteful manner. Gomez’s  sex appeal in the video was applauded rather than criticized by her fans in all age ranges.

Gomez has come along way since the end of her Disney show, but has continued to hold positive ties to the Disney family, because she is still on the Hollywood Record label. But, that doesn't mean that she won't be showing fans a new side of her that's decidedly more adult.

That new side is in its last month of the “Stars Dance” Tour which has already passed through 40 cities nationally and internationally. Selena Gomez will pay a visit to Los Angeles Wednesday night for a stop on her “Stars Dance” tour Wednesday night Nov. 6 at the Staples Center
