'Spring Breakers' Cast: Now And Then

America's sweetheart Selena Gomez is all grown up, making her debut into more "adult" roles. Gomez plays the role of Faith, the not-so-ironically named devout Christian of the group. Many people know the fresh-faced starlet for her main role in "Wizards of Waverly Place" on the Disney Channel, but long before those days, she found her way into show business as Gianna in the series "Barney & Friends."

Before her role as a wild college coed, Ashley Benson played peppy cheerleader Carson in comedy "Bring It On: In It to Win It." The blonde hair and blue-eyed actress is most known for her role as fashionista Hanna Marin on the ABC Family series "Pretty Little Liars," in which she plays a character not quite as daring as Brit. From a cheerleading uniform and pom pons to a bikini and guns, Ashley Benson is clearly going for edgier roles.

Vanessa Hudgens has been creating a broad range of roles for herself, and her part as Candy is no exception. Her film choices have definitely created a unique image for her, which began with her burst into stardom in Disney's "High School Musical." Becoming famous for singing sweetly in the hallways alongside Zac Efron and later for a leaked picture scandal, Hudgens was bound for a movie like "Spring Breakers."

Rachel Korine is least known actress among the main cast of "Spring Breakers," making her role as Cotty in the film her breakthrough moment. However, her first film "Mister Lonely" was also directed by husband Harmony Korine.

Renaissance man James Franco has proven his wide variety of just about everything. He probably will not be known for the corn rows and grills he opted for in "Spring Breakers," but instead for many of his other roles including the recent "Oz: The Great and Powerful." When Franco was just beginning to dip his toes into the world of acting, he also starred in the television series "Freaks and Geeks" and later played James Dean in "James Dean."
The cast of "Spring Breakers" have had a history in more family-oriented work. The actors may seem like unlikely choices to star in a movie like "Spring Breakers" as it consists of drugs, alcohol, and sex, but they are clearly desiring to branch out from their previous roles. Many of the actors have expressed that this film is not a movie for their typical audiences, yet perhaps it is just what they need in order to make the next transition in their careers.
