1. Snapchat
I wonder how it feels to be a twenty-three-year-old who is self-assured enough to turn down $3 billion. That's exactly what Snapchat's founder Evan Spiegel did after receiving the $3 billion dollar bid for his company from Facebook. This offer comes after Facebook's CGO admitted teens are spending less time on Facebook and more time on messaging services like Snapchat.

House Speaker John Boehner announced Wednesday that he will not allow the Senate's immigration reform bill to pass in the House. This means immigration reform is not coming any time soon. The Senate approved bill would increase border security while helping 11 million undocumented immigrants work towards U.S. citizenship. Vice President Joe Biden criticized Boehner on Thursday, saying he is failing to work with the Senate on this issue.

3. Tyhpoon Haiyan
Seven days have passed since Super Typhoon Haiyan hit the shores of the Philippines, and today aid is pouring in from all over the world to help the victims of the storm .The U.N. announced yesterday they believe the death toll has reached around 4,500 in the Philippines. Although food, water and medical supplies are beginning to rich the devastated country, relief efforts are not coming fast enough. With no electricity or running water, victims are relying on the help of others to make it through this devastating time.

Police officers shot and wounded a wanted man in the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin on Tuesday. The police went to the hospital to arrest a man on a felony warrant. The wanted man was found in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit holding a child- and a handgun. The suspect's relationship to the child is unknown.

5. Toronto Mayor
Toronto's mayor Rob Ford seemed to forget the need to not always speak your mind last week. The public was shocked when he admitted to smoking crack-cocaine last Tuesday, but the mayor didn't stop there. On Thursday the mayor used graphic language while denying a female employee's allegation that he sought to perform oral sex . The Toronto City Council voted 39-3 to strip Ford of some of his executive privileges, including the ability to govern in case of an emergency.
