Today, the Children’s Hospital in a Milwaukee County, Wisc. city, Wauwatosa, was on lockdown for almost two hours when a 22-year-old man named Ashanti Hendricks showed up at the hospital with a gun in his hand around noon CST.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said that his department found Hendricks on the neonatal intensive care unit floor holding a baby and a handgun. The suspect immediately saw the policemen and fled the scene, only to get shot twice by one of the officers. The baby and its mother were unharmed.

This incident shocked many, including Carolee Malen, an ER social worker at the hospital.

"I'm upset about this world," she said. "You can't go to a spa, you can't go to a mall, you can't go to a Batman movie, and now it's Children's Hospital."
