Fire Breaks Out Near Santa Monica College Shooting

Santa Monica College is under lock down after multiple shootings occurred on campus. A fire close to the shooting at Santa Monica College broke out killing two men. One of the four victims has died, 2 are in critical condition, 2 are in serious condition and one is good condition.

According to the L. A. Times, the shooting “began when the alleged gunman broke into a nearby home and set fire to another property, law enforcement sources said.”A bomb squad has also been called to search the campus.

The L.A. Times went onto say that, “around 1 p.m., six sheriffs ran into a parking lot at 17th and Pico Boulevard with guns drawn. A car with bullet holes was visible in one college lot.”

Currently, CHP officer Vince Ramirez, told the L.A. Times that one suspect is in custody and they are trying to determine if there is in fact another shooter.

When the Santa Monica Fire Department arrived on the scene, they found a woman with a gunshot wound outside the house. The house fire was on Kansas and Yorkshire.
