Kimbra’s outrageous ensemble was created by Australian designer Jaime Lee Major. Kimbra, who seems like she would have a Lady Gaga-esque style, certainly did not dazzle in that mess of a dress. She looked like a cross between Bjork’s less experienced half and Britney Spears in her “Toxic” music video. That little veil around her shoulders, furthermore, does absolutely nothing to save her red carpet appearance. Better luck next awards show, Kimbra.

Jay Manuel of “America’s Next Top Model” fame should know better than to sport a suit that looks like it has bird droppings dripping down the sleeves and pant legs. Of all patterns and colors, how Manuel could have settled on an eyesore of this caliber is puzzling. So many questions are arising… Who designed this? Is no one willing to step up and claim this strange suit? Trying to Google who the designer of Jay Manuel’s outfit is harder than looking at the suit for more than ten seconds. So much for being a stylist, huh?

Once upon a time, Carly Rae Jepsen went to prom and saved the dress. Flash forward about ten years, she chose to relive the night by wearing the same dress to the Grammys… Not really, but what else could explain that weird foil-effect mermaid dress? The pop singer may be turning 28 this year, but she is stuck in an adolescent mindset. In other news, that Roberto Cavalli dress is not flattering on her curves whatsoever.

Nicole Kidman is an absolute sweetheart, but even she cannot be spared from public slander for her Vera Wang decision. Not to be mistaken, the dress is gorgeous on its own. On anyone else with a different skin complexion, the dress would have made the best-dressed list. This is not the case with Nicole Kidman, whose fair skin would have looked so much better in something that would not have washed her out. Still, she has the ability to shine on her own.

Adele

Usually seen sporting tasteful black dresses, Adele took a risk with her red floral printed dress designed by Valentino. Sadly, her bold look on the red carpet proved to be a tragic mistake. As amazing as Adele is, that dress made her look like a matryoshka doll (You know, one of those stackable Russian dolls?). That print, bless her heart, was a tacky couch cover in another life. At least she stuck to a conservative look per the Grammys’ dress code. If anything, no one can say Adele showed too much skin on the red carpet.

D'Manti (Twitpic)

Did everyone forget to send D’Manti a memo about the dress code? Or, honestly, the email about common sense? Seriously, did someone just dye a bunch of leaves black and grey and stick them on her? That sheer, fishnet dress of hers is just not appropriate for the Grammys. There really is no excuse for such insolence. D’Manti is obviously unapologetic and even proud of what she opted to wear (Check that huge grin on her face), so the criticism against her should be just as ruthless. Then again… Who is D’Manti, anyway?
