On music's biggest night, the attention is on the fashion hits and faux pas as much it is on the gramophone-trophy winners. The 55th Annual Grammy Awards did not fail to impress with many glamorous (and WTF) fashion moments. Here are some of the winners of this year's awards, complete with commentary on their ensembles.

Grammys 2013 Trend Alert: Slits Up To There

Kimbra

Is this dress Kimbra's way of revealing too much to "somebody she used to know"? She (and Gotye) might have won for Record of the Year, but it seems like she's losing the battle to mimic Lea Michele's Golden Globes 2012 dress or Jennifer Lopez's Golden Globes look this year. The 2kg of golden pearls on her custom-designed Jaime Lee dress are glam, but the random placement of pale turquoise silk tulle...I don't even know what to say.

Adele may have took home the Best Pop Solo Performance for "Set Fire To The Rain (Live)," but what she should have set fire to is her ensemble. While I commend her for straying from her usual black dress, this Valentino floral-patterned frock takes a few minutes for our eyes to adjust to. The dress ages her, and looks a little bit like someone's tapestry. And her matching pumps? Maybe she should have stuck with black.

Carrie Underwood

The Best Country Solo Album winner for "Blown Away" was, as it typically is, Carrie Underwood. Once again she played it safe - pretty, polished and put-together. She looks simple but fabulous in a Roberto Cavalli gown that is embellished with a lace and embroidered bodice and a curve-hugging, mermaid-esque flared skirt. The singer topped it off with a glam diamond necklace, making her overall ensemble a hit.

The singer's speech for her Best Pop Vocal Album was sweet and endearing, but her see-through polka-dot neckline and sleeves are anything but. Although her orange-red lipstsick, turquoise earrings and spike-studded heels are fun and glamorous, her actual dress is a disaster (she should have stuck to her performance dress - that one is gorgeous on her). The cut of this frock does not flatter her figure at all, and what's the situation with that tacky belt?

Rihanna

Rihanna may not have gone home with an award, but her three dress changes and two spectacular performances warrant her a spot on this list. Each of her three dresses - a custom red Alaia gown, a simple form-fitting, black dress and a striped metallic cropped top with a matching maxi skirt  - complement her simple waves and red lips. Wearing $2 million worth of jewels, the songstress definitely stole the show.
