In the aftermath of an announcement by the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Department confirming the death of fugitive Christopher Dorner, the mother of the deceased has expressed condolences for victims of the ex-LAPD cop's shooting rampage.
In a statement given to Robin Sax at Fox 11 Los Angeles, Nancy Dorner said:
"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we express our deepest sympathies and condolences to anyone that suffered losses or injuries resulting from Christopher's actions. We do not condone Christopher's actions."
Dorner's charred remains were discovered in a burned down cabin in Big Bear after a standoff with police officers Tuesday afternoon.
Dorner's ex-girlfiriend, Arianna Williams also reacted to news of Dorner's death.
"I don't think it's any way justifiable, someone going out and killing anyone because they're stressed out at work. There are ways and outlets of releasing stress. Chris, unfortunately, was one of those people, he bottled up a lot of his emotions and wasn't very good at expressing himself," Williams told CNN Thursday.
Williams also said that during the time she and Dorner were dating in 2006, he demonstrated considerable comfort and proficiency with firearms.
Mrs. Dorner has stated that the family has no further comments and has requested that their privacy be respected at this time.
