Ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner's body was identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, after his dental records were obtained during the autopsy. Dorner was killed in a Big Bear cabin during a stand-off with SWAT officers that resulted in the cabin being set on fire.

NBC reports:

"The charred human remains located in the burned out cabin in Seven Oaks have been positively identified to be that of Christopher Dorner, according to the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Department."

Dorner is believed to have died inside the cabin after the officers threw highly flammable "hot gas" canisters into the cabin. It is still unclear whether the fire caused Dorner's death.

Authorities had been searching for Dorner for days after he was suspected of killing three people this month.

The former Navy and LAPD officer was 33 years old.
