The manhunt for Christopher Dorner continues despite heavy snowfall in Big Bear, San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said in a press conference Friday morning.

"We're continuing to search...We've put our SWAT guys in the snowcat," McMahon told reporters. "We're going to continue to search in the mountain area. There are lot of cabins up there that are abandoned."

McMahon confirmed that there have been no reports of Dorner coming "into the community." Schools in the area are closed due to inclement weather rather than concerns about protecting children from Dorner.

McMahon stated that the search is "extremely dangerous," but added that "our folks are highly trained…we're working side by side to help solve this."

Former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, 33, is sought in connection with several shootings in souther California that have occurred since last Sunday, when Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence were found dead in a parking lot in Irvine.
