Democrats Secure Gabrielle Giffords' Seat In Congress
Democrats reclaimed the U.S. House seat held by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords as her former aide Rep. Don Barber beat Republican Martha McSally for a full term in Arizona's second district, reported CNN.
Giffords, who had left Congress to focus on recovery after being shot in the head in 2011, had endorsed Barber as her successor. He won her spot during a special election in June.

"With the campaign over, I am eager to get back to work," Barber said in a statement after McSally announced in a press conference that she would concede the race on Saturday. "Congress has important decisions to make, and we must seek compromise and bipartisanship in order to get things done. We must leave the harsh rhetoric and gridlock behind us."
