Footage from Mitt Romney’s incendiary speech at a fundraising event earlier this year was leaked by Former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson, New York Magazine reports. The video, released Monday, features Romney stating that 47% of Americans will vote for Obama because they “believe they are victims” and are “dependent on the government.”

James Carter IV is credited as a research assistant on the Mother Jones story, published by David Corn.

"I've been searching for clips on Republicans for a long time, almost every day," said Carter Monday. "I just do it for fun."

Carter said he had been searching for opposition clips when he found portions of the video on YouTube, which have since been taken down. Three weeks ago, more were added under the username "Anne Onymous." Carter found the person reportedly responsible for the anonymous taping on Twitter and put the source in touch with Corn.
