American Music Awards Biggest Winners
The AMAs was not short of big names; Everyone from Nicki Minaj to Justin Bieber came. This year’s winners have been dominating our airwaves so it was no surprise they won big. Taylor Swift dominated the night winning three categories including artist of the year, favorite country female artist, and favorite country album for “Speak Now.” Adele was another big winner at the AMAs winning favorite adult contemporary artist, favorite pop/rock female artist, and favorite pop/rock album for her album "21." Nicki Minaj walked away with two wins including favorite rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for her album “Pink Friday."
As for the rest of the winners, there was a wide range of them. Beyonce won favorite soul/R&B female artist while Jennifer Lopez won favorite Latin music artist and Rihanna won favorite soul/R&B Album for her album “Loud.”
As for the men who walked away with wins, Bruno Mars won favorite pop/rock male artist, Usher won favorite soul/R&B male artist, and Blake Shelton won favorite country male artist.
The night also included a number wins for musical groups like Maroon 5 who won favorite pop/rock band, duo or group, Lady Antebellum who won favorite country band, duo or group, Foo Fighters who won favorite alternative rock artist, Casting Crowns who won favorite contemporary inspirational artist, and Hot Chelle Rae walked away winning the favorite new artist of the year category.
The 2011 AMAs was nothing short of spectacular which was clearly reflective of this year’s winners who had one or two of their songs on instant replay in everyone’s head at some point in time this year.
