'Modern Family' Recap: The Help

Gloria and Jay (Ed O'Neil) were at odds after Gloria tried to hire a male nanny named Andy (Guest Star Adam Devine), to help her out with Joe. Gloria has consistently fired every nanny that baby Joe has had due to Manny's (Rico Rodriguez) attempts to hit on all of them. Gloria assumes the problem will be solved by hiring Andy, but the caretaker's over enthusiastic, health centered attitude, soon causes Jay and Manny to object.
Once Gloria hires Andy, Jay fires him before he is even able to finish his first day. This upsets Gloria to the point where she is yelling at Manny and Jay in front of the prospective nanny. Luckily for the family, Andy steps in and calms Gloria down so much, that she actually feels inclined to apologize to Jay. This changes Jay's mind about Andy instantly. He hires the male nanny, but is stuck having to exercise with the family in exchange.
Cameron and Mitchell also hire someone new to help them with wedding planning. The duo hire their friend Pepper (guest star Nathan Lane), an elaborate and flamboyant event planner who comes with an equally fabulous assistant, Ronaldo. When Pepper's ideas prove to be too over the top for Mitchell and Cameron, they confide in Ronaldo. In turn, the young assistant shows them more subtle, but equally glamorous wedding ideas. After seeing how Ronaldo would style their wedding, the couple wants to fire Pepper but don't know how to tell their old friend.
Shortly thereafter, Pepper walks in on Ronaldo showing Cameron and Mitchell wedding designs. At first he is upset because he thinks his apprentice has left him to branch off into his own wedding company, but then, Ronaldo reveals that is actually in love with Pepper, so he ins't leaving Pepper's side. The revelation was definitely touching, leaving both couples happy.

Claire calls up her father, hoping that he will advise Frank to see a therapist, but instead Jay insists that Frank go out for a night on the town to get back into the dating scene. So Phil and Jay take Frank out to a bar and leave him alone when they've determined that he has found a nice woman to talk to.
In an awkward but comedic turn of events, Frank ends up bringing home, and sleeping with, a hooker who is demanding $500 before she is willing to leave. Phil scrambles to get the money together before Claire comes home and finds the woman.
Ultimately, Phil is unable to achieve his goal, and Claire comes home while the prostitute is in her kitchen. Based off of what Phil has told Claire about the woman, Claire believes she is speaking to a therapist. Claire begins to thank the prostitute on what a great service she does for the community, and even goes so far as to introduce the hooker to Alex and Haley to give them inspiration for the future.
Eventually, Phil and Frank get caught when Claire realizes the woman has a more explicit profession, and the pair are in a lot of trouble, but like everything else on the show, it was funny while it lasted.
