Annenberg's prize-winning faculty encompasses professionals and scholars whose work covers the journalistic territory from blogs to books, from documentaries to broadcast production. The Annenberg family also includes numerous research and professional education centers, focusing on digital media, arts journalism, health journalism and more.
The Annenberg community nourishes its students through the multiplicity of experiences and viewpoints of its faculty and staff, and students in turn help drive the quest to understand and contribute to the ongoing changes in journalism and public relations.
Our undergraduate degree in journalism trains students to work across all platforms and formats. The M.A. in Print, Broadcast or Online Journalism is a two-year program in convergence journalism that gives students hands-on experience in on- and off-campus coverage.
Our nine-month M.A. in Specialized Journalism enables students to dive deep into various disciplines -- from science to demographics to religion -- in order to practice their craft with an uncommon degree of knowledge. All of these programs are enhanced by an incomparable ensemble of learning laboratories, such as Neon Tommy, this voice of Annenberg Digital News. The Journalism School also offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Strategic Public Relations, another fast-changing (and fast-growing) profession relying on strong communication skills.
We teach students an array of skills ranging from critical thinking to writing and editing and comprehensive market research. We sponsor a student-run public relations agency, TriSight, which operates as a bona fide PR firm. Our faculty works on applied research through the Strategic Communications and Public Relations Center (SPRC).
