L'Wren Scott, Fashion Designer, Found Dead
An assistant received a text early that morning by Scott to "come by." Once there, the assistant discovered her hanging from a door knob with a scarf around her neck and called the police.
No suicide note or signs of forced entry were found. Scott was 49 years old.
She had been dating Mick Jagger since 2001. Her friends and fellow designers believed she was in a good place in her life, both professionally and personally.
"Everyone is shocked," designer Michael Houghton said. "She seemed to have her career going well and everyone assumed things were fine between her and Mick."
Vogue editor Anna Wintour describes Scott as a "total perfectionist," noting the late designer embodied a "strength of character combined with a confident and powerful style" like her clothes.

"In person, L'Wren was always unbelievably generous, gracious, kind, and so much fun," Wintour said in a statement. "Her old world American manners and charm were from another time, but her sensibility was always fiercely modern. We all miss her."
As for Mick Jagger himself, a rep for the 70-year-old says he is shocked by his girlfriend's death.

Though Scott's death is believed to be a suicide, the New York Medical Examiner will look into the cause of death.
Before becoming a high-profile figure in the fashion industry, Scott launched herself into the style world as a runway model from Utah. She later became a stylist, and then pursued her own line in 2006.
Some of her celebrity clients include, Jagger, Madonna and Christina Hendricks.
