In the first installment of "Scream Queens"’ two-hour season finale, the clock ticked as the members of Kappa Kappa Tau tried to figure out who the Red Devil killer is. And boy, was the rest a shocker.

This episode continues where the last one left off, with Pete (Diego Boneta) admitting to Grace (Skyler Samuels) that he is a murderer. He explains that he is not the main Red Devil, but stumbled upon the plan. He saw the Red Devil kill Shauntell (Deneen Tyler) and followed the murderer back to the Dickie Dollar Scholars, discovering it was Boone (Nick Jonas). Boone laid out his plan to Pete, and that’s when he realized that he resonated with the mission: admonishing the Greek system, which was only being made worse by the Chanel’s and KKT. He admits to killing Roger (Aaron Rhodes) and Boone, and to being the Red Devil who attacked the Chanel’s in the mall. However, he tries to justify his actions by saying that Grace practically egged him on with her determination to find the killer, and that he wanted revenge on Chanel. Their history is finally explained: a year before, Chanel (Emma Roberts) had manipulated Pete into thinking that she wanted him to participate in a twisted sex fantasy. All the ‘fantasy’ turns out to be is a culturally insensitive Native American chant-fest, which was just a big prank the Chanel's created to humiliate him. Horrified by these revelations, Grace is hysterical and cries out that she hates Pete and cannot trust him. He convinces her not to leave by letting her know he snatched DNA from all the Chanel’s and has figured out who the unmasked killer is. Before he can reveal their identity, the Red Devil bursts out from the closet and stabs Pete to death. He or she tries to attack Grace but she puts up a good fight until she is knocked unconscious. The Red Devil is able to make their escape.

Things are not going well for Chanel. She sent out an email to her minions and Zayday (Keke Palmer), chastising them for not showing up to the university pool to murder Dean Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis). However, the Red Devil forwards the email to the press, who are all over the story. Horrified that she is now the most hated woman in America, Chanel locks herself in her room and attempts to kill herself by having a snake bite her. Zayday is able to talk her out of it and convinces her that they need to find the killer. At that moment, a guy in a Red Devil costume breaks into her room. Zayday fights and unmasks him, and he turns out to be a pizza delivery guy. They both drag him downstairs, where Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd) and Chanel #5 (Abigail Breslin) encounter them. They are all confused by his presence until he reveals that the real Red Devil made him put on the costume…and also strapped a dynamite bomb onto him! The Chanel’s are able to run for cover before the bomb explodes.

While the bomb squad cleans up the debris, Chanel informs her minions of her plan to restore her reputation. She decides to go on an “apology tour” and “apologize” to Melanie Dorkus (Brianne Howey) about disfiguring her with acid spray, which she still claims to not have actually done. The Chanel’s agree to tag along. Meanwhile, Grace meets with Wes (Oliver Hudson) to discuss a new plan of action in finding the killer. Wes decorates Munsch’s house with candles and roses in an attempt to seduce her, which she happily accepts. While they are having very loud and rowdy sex, Zayday and Grace break into her computer and look at the academic files of all the Chanel’s. They are able to find out disturbing information about one of them in particular: a faked social security number, address, and high school transcript. There is also no record of this person’s parents. Horrified, the girls run off to warn the other Chanel’s. After sex, Wes confesses his feelings for Munsch, but she says in order for them to be together, he can’t have such a tight leash on Grace.

The Chanel’s show up at the Dorkus residence; before they are allowed to see her, Chanel #5 finds that someone has swiped right for her on Tinder. She had called the company earlier in the episode, thinking that the app was broken because no one had requested her. Chanel declares it a miracle and tells her to leave, and that she and #3 will handle the situation themselves. They go to see Melanie, whose face is extremely burned and disfigured. She yells at Chanel and tells her she ruined her life. Chanel pretends to be concerned, but at the last moment pulls out a pair of nail scissors and attempts to stab Melanie, accusing her of being the Red Devil. Melanie is barely able to escape when Zayday and Grace arrive, telling them that the Red Devil is: Hester (Lea Michele)!

The girls race back to Kappa, arming themselves with weapons. Chanel #5 is already there, upset that her date turned out to be a fluke. Chanel wastes no time insulting her when a scream is heard from her closet. The girls hurriedly go in there, stunned to find Hester on the ground with a heel from one of Chanel’s shoes lodged in her eye. Grace begins to accuse her, but she shakily points a finger at #5, saying that she is the Red Devil.
