A piece of fashion wisdom that I have always tried to take to heart is to “mix your highs and lows.” In other words, don’t bombard your body with strictly designer or extravagant pieces, instead, mix them with less expensive but still chic items.

When I saw Christina Similien I was immediately reminded of this wise advice. Christina’s outfit had its more fancy elements such as her knit pencil skirt and flowing blazer, but they were perfectly blended with the more casual, much loved converse and graphic crop top. The blend of color in Christina’s outfit is also perfectly executed, mixing the basic black and whites with pink and burgundy.
