Five-Star Defensive Tackle Rasheem Green Commits to USC
Rasheem Green, a five-star defensive tackle, announced his decision to play for USC Wednesday morning. Green picked USC over Arizona State, Miami, and Oregon. Green is the No. 23 recruit in the nation, and the No. 5 defensive tackle, per SB Nation Recruiting.
Green is a homegrown talent who hails from Gardena, CA, and attended Junipero Serra High School, like other Trojan commit John Houston. USC has been considered the favorite to land Green, especially since Serra is a known USC recruiting stronghold.
The 6’5”, 290 pound tackle has already been called the next Leonard Williams and can realistically play in any role up front for the Trojans. Green has the strength, speed, and athleticism to be an immediate starter and impact player for USC.
Green is coming off a season ending knee injury in mid-November, as he tore his meniscus in Serra’s regular season finale. At that point in the season, Green had six sacks and 21 total tackles for losses.
