Six Guantanamo Bay Prisoners Transferred To Uruguay
Six men held at Guantanamo Bay were transferred to Uruguay, Sunday.
The transfer took nearly a year to organize and is the first time that inmates from the controversial prison have been resettled in South America.

Since November, thirteen prisoners have now left the Cuban jail which President Obama has promised to close.

Of the men, four are Syrian, one is Tunisian and the another is Palestinian.
In an open letter José Mujica, the Uruguayan president, offered asylum to the men as part of the country’s humanitarian tradition.
