Summer is known to perish by the end of August. But this year, summer decided to extend its usual stay until November. Now imagine how jealous those east coasters must feel as we continue to soak up the warm California rays. But by now, everyone is pretty much over the sweltering heat and craving a cool breeze. So thankfully, after months of anticipation, autumn in Los Angeles has finally arrived.

Although autumn in Los Angeles is like spring in Italy (never too cold or too hot), it is still exciting to feel a slight weather transition since it provides the perfect excuse to stock up on this season’s most stylish necessities and whip out your favorite trench coat that has been collecting dust throughout this abnormally long summer. Now let's take a look at how USC transitions from summer apparel to winter apparel in a trendy manner.

Arin is wearing a Structure parka, Cheap Monday jumper, Levis 511 jeans and classic high-top Converse.

A parka is an essential yet stylish piece for winter that can be worn in many different ways. Arin creates an edgy look by pairing his parka with an olive green cable sweater and classic Converse. Let's also keep in mind that parkas are not only limited to the guys but can also work well on the ladies.

Elise is wearing a Ralph Lauren polo, Zara jeans and H&M shoes.

A perfectly semi-fitted button-down shirt should be a staple piece in every male or female's closet since a touch of masculinity is one of this season's most sought after trends. In this case, Elise adds a hint of femininity to her look by wearing pink flats.

Pernille is wearing a H&M blouse, Zara pants, Nine West booties and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

A nice pair of loose printed pants is the easiest way to feel comfortable and stylish at the same time. Pernille makes the right choice when she wore her pants with a plain black top that complements them rather than taking attention away.

Lisa is wearing Topshop jeans and jacket, a Barney's Co-op t-shirt and Bensimon sneakers.

A bright pop of color with the shoes can transform any simple outfit into an edgier one. Lisa has the right idea with her fun Bensimon sneakers.

Megan is wearing a Levi's jacket, flee market sweater and Dr. Martens Mary-Janes.

One of this season's edgiest trends is colored hair. Megan's pink-hued hair with her double-strap Mary Janes creates an outfit in itself.

Jiaqi is wearing a Burberry scarf, Oak cardigan, Wilfred Free dress and Steve Madden loafers.

A printed scraf goes perfectly with a monotone outfit. In this case, Jiaqui transforms her simple grey look by pairing it with the patterned accessory.

Leanne is wearing a Gap sweater, J Brand pants and Jeffrey Campbell shoes.

A basic sweater is a must-have for winter because it can be paired with almost anything. Leanne revamps her look by pairing her navy sweater with a olive-green pants and super chic monk-strap shoes that tie the whole look together.

Lindsay is wearing a Brandy Melville sweater and skirt, TopShop boots and hat and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

As we all know, fall and winter weather in California is not taken very serioulsly. We have the privilege of showing a little skin without instantly turning into an icicle. Lindsay balances her corduroy skirt with a warm sweater and finishes off the outfit with the perfect accessories: a hat and round sunglasses. She manages to stay warm and look super trendy.
