Obama Will Appoint A New Attorney General

Loretta E. Lynch, an elite federal prosecutor in New York, is expected to be nominated by President Barack Obama Saturday to Attorney General.
Current Attorney General Eric Holder resigned in September after six years in office. Eric Holder was the first African-American in the office; Loretta Lynch would be the first African-American woman to hold the title.

Loretta Lynch, who donated to Obama's campaign in 2008 but has no personal ties to the White House, joined a short-list candidates close to the president including the labor secretary, the solicitor general, and former White House counsel.
Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Lynch graduated from Harvard with a bachelors and law degree.
