On November 23, today's hottest artists took over the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the 2014 American Music Awards (AMAs).

With killer performances by the likes of Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, and Lorde, the 2014 AMAs were chock-full of memorable moments...

Like THE Diana Ross awarding Taylor Swift with the Dick Clark Award for Excellence, for example.

One Direction (unsurprisingly) owned the night by winning in all three of the categories they were nominated in.

Eleven of the twenty-two awards were announced offscreen, including Single of the Year.
