Texas Health Care Workers Prepare For Ebola Patients Using… Tabasco Sauce?

At the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, health care staff have been practicing treating fake patients who have randomly been sprayed with Tabasco sauce. Doctors and nurses practice treating their patients while dressing and undressing in their protective gear.

If the health care workers feel a tingling on their hand from the Tabasco sauce, it means they have been contaminated. Dr. Bruce Meyer, an executive vice president at the hospital said, “In a way, it gives feedback immediately.”
