How LGBT Representation In TV Is Changing, According To GLAAD

GLAAD has released their annual "Where We Are on TV" report, which analyzes the amount of LGBT representation and overall diversity on the small screen for the 2014-15 season.

According to the study, 6.5 percent of series regulars on FOX are LGBT characters, putting them in first place among the Big Four networks (FOX, ABC, CBS, and NBC).

However, streaming content providers like Netflix continue to blow broadcast and cable networks out of the water in terms of overall diversity and LGBT representation.

In fact, "Orange Is the New Black," Netflix's Emmy award-winning series starring Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon, "contains more lesbian, bisexual, and transgender characters than nearly any broadcast or cable series currently on the air."
