The fashion world has always been know for its strange quirks and shocking styles and the Fall New York Fashion Week was no exception.

Whether it was Miley Cyrus partying in pasties or models walking down the runaway in revealing outfits, the definitive trend of the week can be boiled down to sheer fabrics and nudity.

Designers such as Michael Costello and Betsey Johnson incorporated a lot of sheer fabrics into the outfits their models wore out on the runway - some of whom had little more than cotton balls to cover up certain parts of their bodies.

Even the celebrities attending the event joined in on the trend. Besides Miley Cyrus' appearance at the Alexander Wang Secret After-Party clad only in pasties, Kendall Jenner wore a sheer top down the runway as one of Marc Jacobs' models. Justin Bieber also got a lot of attention for spontaneously stripping down to his boxers onstage while being booed by the crowd.

What do you make of all the nudity and see-through designs at NYFW? Is it completely unnecessary or is it genius and what the fashion world is all about?
