Adrian Peterson Placed On Exempt List; Will Not Play Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings released a statement that outlines their decision to place running back Adrian Peterson on the Exempt/Commissioner's List.
According to the Vikings owners speaking in the statement, the NFL made them aware of the option, and in deciding to place Peterson on that list, he will be forced to stay away from all team activities until all legal matters are resolved.

The Vikings reactivated Peterson—who had been deactivated after being indicted on child abuse charges—on Monday, but after much public scrutiny and the departure of sponsor Radisson Hotel yesterday, it seems they have changed their mind.

Now, the former NFL MVP will not play Sunday when the Vikings travel to New Orleans to play the Saints, and will remain out until his legal procceedings are settled.
