According to a new report, it turns out Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is not a one-time child abuser.

KHOU 11 in Houston is reporting that Peterson has been cited for another case of child abuse against a different son. The case was brought to authorities by the child's mother and claims that Peterson hit his son, leaving two bandaged wounds on the child's head. The incident allegedly occured in The Woodlands, a private living community around Houston.

Peterson admits in a text message conversation with the mother that the running back "whooped" his son "in the car." He goes on to validate the beating: "I felt so bad. But he did it to his self."

No charges have been filed against Peterson, but the mother has brought the case to Child Protective Services.

This is the second claim of child abuse against Peterson this week. He was arrested and released on $15,000 bail earlier this week for allegedly beating his four-year old son with a "switch", or a small tree branch.

Regarding the first charge, Peterson released a statement early today claiming he "never intended to harm his son" and cited his similar upbringing as a catalyst for his actions: "I have always believed that the way my parents disciplined me has a great deal to do with the success I have enjoyed as a man."

After deactivating him for Sunday's loss against the Patriots, the Vikings reinstated Peterson this morning. The team has not addressed the latest allegations.

Peterson's attorney, Rusty Hardin - who also defended Roger Clemens - has been repeatedly approached for comment, but is out of the country.
