In an interview with NBC7 Channel News, Nate noted,

"It is important that we speak to the root of the problem. We must identify the behavior and oppressive attitude of a system more so than the individual(s). The first step requires active listening, non-defensiveness, and respectful communication, keeping in mind that the goal is to encourage positive change."

Poetry Editor Michael Meyerhofer of the Atticus Review noted, "Jackson has a unique way of slicing clean through that psychic numbness that can sometimes cloud our brains after years of reading, the result of being kind of revelatory jolt to the senses...here is a poet we should keep our eyes on."

John Rockwell

Vocals, King Hurrah; USC 2014

You might find yourself listening to John Rockwell's music on repeat. His delightful tunes are eerily reminsicent of Jeff Buckley's album "Grace," with a hint of Ray Lamontagne raspy "Hold you in my Arms." And don't be fooled when you see him perform live, he is not John Mayer. This sweater wearing stud is often mistaken for famous indie chic guitar players, but is really just a shy kid from the Palisades. King Hurrah includes John on Vocals and Marcus Högsta on Bass.

When asked to describe King Hurrah, John's peers had streams of kind words to contribute. A senior at USC studying Music Composition said,

"If given the choice betwixt King Hurrah, King Krule, and King Henry VIII, I'd probably choose Hurrah."

Another chimed in,

"John Rockwell sings like he is on fire and is ecstatic about it."

-USC 2015

As a recent graduate from USC, John will continue to pursue his music career with performances at local venues and literary events in Los Angeles. Check out his band, King Hurrah, on Facebook. Listen to more of John's incredible vocals at the King Hurrah soundcloud and bandcamp pages.

Kris Kidd

Author, "I Can't Feel My Face"

Kris Kidd is a part-time writer and model. He recently began working with Seven Artist Management, after he stopped working with Industry Model Group. Kris describes himself as "a teenage train wreck" and "full-time narcissist," and has over 4,000 likes on his facebook writer's page.

Despite some of the wild antics he displays on social media, Kris's words capture a sense of universality. Universality in what it feels like to just want to remain a child while being forced to become an adult. Stay updated with Kris's latest work at his writer's facebook and tumblr accounts. Watch this video to see an exclusive interview with Kris.

"'I Can't Feel My Face' is a collection of six essays written by Kris Kidd, a self-proclaimed 20-year-old train wreck from Los Angeles with a penchant for social media over-sharing and self destruction. Kidd is the American youth as seen through a funhouse mirror - fractured and disjointed. Almost caricature-like in his mannerisms, he is either the most brutally honest, or the most frightening comedic depiction of the current generation that has been seen yet."

Skyler Garn

Drummer, Jackal Hide; USC 2016

Skyler Garn is originally from Newport Beach, California, and studied at the Orange County High School for the Arts prior to beginning college. Although he plays the drums for Jackal Hide, he can also sing and play the guitar. He is also known for his incredible ability to pull off fedoras and his dedication to practice (really loud strumming) into odd hours of the night.

From just looking at photographs, it is clear these young men are united by an unwavering, boyish sense of humor. One that continuously reocurred in abrupt snorting and sarcastic, witty commentary when trying to seriously interview them. Please note that all donations to the Jackal Hide indiegogo campaign will support this incredible group as they record their first, full-length album!

"Honey Gun was started in 2011 by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Sam Duffey, originally under the name The Night Owls. Eventually, after many line-up changes, Honey Gun would permanently become known as Jackal Hide. Jackal Hide features Sam Duffey on guitar and vocals, Alex Flagstad on guitar, Chris Jackson on bass, and Skylar Garn on drums.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Jackal Hide embodies all the best things about the city: Sunglasses at night, beautiful women driving fast cars, and sunny nonchalance. After a year of constant gigging around the Los Angeles area, a quick stint in Italy, and a trashed dressing room, Jackal Hide decided to record their debut EP 'Honey Gun.' Their full length album will be released this October, and has been compared to the smooth sounds of the Arctic Monkeys."
