Meanwhile, Los Angeles Unified School District workers just won an even larger pay boost. By 2016, the 330,00 custodians, cafeteria workers, teaching assistants, bus drivers and security aides working as part of the Local 99 of Service Employees International will be bringing home $15 per hour.

As city labor agreements expire this week, a coalition of city labor unions are also hoping to find themselves in the $15 dollars per hour group.
It's starting to look like Los Angeles may not be all that far from adopting Seattle's city-wide $15 minimum wage.
