The upcoming Lifetime Original Movie, which tentatively titled "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B," is based off of Christopher Farley’s bestseller "Aaliyah: More Than a Woman" and will chronicle the deceased singer’s journey to fame and her untimely passing at the height of her stardom.

The 17-year-old "Shake It Up!" star and Hollywood Records artist will also record four of Aaliyah’s hit songs for the film. The movie is set to begin shooting this summer and will premiere in the fall.
