Wife Of Sunken Korean Ferry Owner Arrested

South Korean authorities arrested the wife of the businessman connected to the ferry disaster in April, according to Reuters.

Kwon Yoon Ja, 72 was apprehended by police on Saturday on embezzlement charges. Kwon is being suspected of transferring money from her health supplement company into companies that her husband and son own.

Kwon’s husband, 73-year-old Yoo Byung Un is currently South Korea’s most wanted fugitive. Yoo is behind Chonghaejin Marine Co. which ran the Sewol ferry that sank on April 16, killing around 300 people, many of them being schoolchildren.

Authorities set a reward of $490,000 for information leading to the capture of Yoo.
