You might recognize her as Sophia from Netflix's prison series "Orange is the New Black," but Laverne Cox's Time magazine cover is about more than just her acting career.

This starlet is furthering the transgender movement.

According to Time, the actress discusses politics, happiness and "why genitalia isn't destiny."

The publication promises the full cover story will examine the "radical rise in awareness of transgender Americans and how this movement is reshaping our definitions of gender."
