Yes, Damian – you are beautiful, no matter what they say.

Daniel Franzese, better known as Damian in one of the most quotable movies ever, came out as gay Tuesday as reported by Gawker.

While the typical route is to have a reporter demurely mention in in a tell-all article, or shout it from the podium like Ellen Page did in Las Vegas months ago, Franzese decided instead to write a confessional to his 16-year-old character with 10 years of perspective behind him.

“You became an iconic character that people looked up to; I wished I’d had you as a role model when I was younger. I might've been easier to be gay growing up.

You WERE beautiful in every single way and words couldn’t bring you down.”

Damn straight.

The letter appeared in the self-professed queer blog, /bent.

Franzese, now 35, has done a few gigs here and there, but don’t worry – he’ll still have legions of fans running after him screaming, “Danny Devito, I love your work!”

Franzese revealed in a recent interview with Cosmopoliton that he, obviously, nailed his audition.

“Amanda Seyfried had come in for her test and she was wondering aloud, "Should I wear this beige shirt or should I wear this maroon shirt?" Mark [Waters, the director] and Tina [Fey] had their backs to me, and I said, “I’d go with the merlot.” I don’t even know where that line came from, but they both whipped around and started laughing.”

April marks ten years since “Mean Girls” was released, and we only have one thing to say: You go, Glen Coco!
