Actress Ellen Page proudly came out as a lesbian to a crowded conference hall in Las Vegas on Feb 14.

The "Juno" actress gave an emotional speech at an event called Time to THRIVE, a national convention hosted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation to promote safety and inclusion for LGBT youth.

Page, 26, said she was fearful of coming out in the past, but now she has chosen to live openly as a gay woman in hopes of inspiring younger kids experiencing the same issues she faced while her sexuality was closeted.

"We deserve to experience love fully, equally, without shame and without compromise," Page said to the crowd.

She received a standing ovation from her peers.
