Swedish Journalist Killed In Kabul

Swedish radio correspondent Nils Horner was killed in Kabul Tuesday, highlighting the growing instability in the region ahead of the presidential elections.

Horner was conducting interviews at a restaurant when gunmen shot him in the back of the head, CNN reported.

BBC News reported that the gunmen escaped.

The shocking death raises concerns about foreigners’ safety in the capital of Afghanistan, the Washington Post reported.

More than 20 people died in the same area in January when a car bomb went off.

It also comes at a time when the Taliban is reportedly threatening to disrupt the elections, Al Jazeera reported.
