Actress Shailene Woodley has been in the spotlight nonstop while promoting her new blockbuster film "Divergent," which hit theaters March 21. But her acting chops aren’t the only things making headlines.

The 22-year-old has been generating lots of buzz for her rather candid confessions about everything from her unorthodox beauty secrets to her odd, healthy living practices. While it’s refreshing to hear such unfiltered honesty from a rising celebrity, it’s safe to say that this girl is definitely one-of-a-kind.

Let’s take a look her most outrageous quotes during her recent press tour:

"The Descendants" star shared the benefits of homemade toothpaste and a nomadic lifestyle with late night host Seth Meyers during an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

On making her own toothpaste:

“It’s fun. I make it out of clay. You put some coconut oil in there, a few essential oils if you feel it, maybe some herbs. Here’s the kicker though: you don’t spit it out, you swallow it. So you’re getting your daily dose of medicine while you brush your teeth.”

On living out of a suitcase for two months:

“I cruised and I hung out with my friends and family. I got rid of everything I owned. I got rid of my cell phone, and I fit my life into a carry-on suitcase and I just couch surfed for two months. It was awesome. I explored so many couches that I didn't I know existed in my friends' homes. You know what's fun about that, though, is living in L.A., obviously, it's so spread out. I got to learn different areas that I didn't know about before."

Woodley revealed her favorite way to show affection and how she fights off illness to Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."

On her love of hugs:

“I love hugging. It’s like 'I’m real, you’re real, let’s hug it out.' Instead of like a handshake and then you’re like, 'Hmm, I don’t know where that hand’s been.' A little heart to heart action. I feel like inherently we go to the other side, the right, but what’s that about? Maybe it says something about our society that we go to the right and not to the heart."

On the unknown benefits of raw garlic:

"If you're feeling sick, eat raw garlic. I had some this morning, so you might be like, 'Shai, stay away, because you have fire dragon breath.' Of course, it's not easy to find at odd hours. Dude, I was at room service at 1:30 a.m. and I was like, 'Oh my god, I'm getting a cold!' I was like, 'Do you guys have any raw garlic?' and they were like, 'You are the weirdest person we've ever talked to.'"

During an interview with beauty website Into the Gloss, the actress divulged some of her hair and skincare tricks.

On learning the benefits of clay from her taxi driver:

“He was African and was saying that, where he’s from, the women eat clay when they’re pregnant. Seriously—ask your taxi drivers where they are from and about their customs. You will learn a lot. So, I've discovered that clay is great for you because your body doesn’t absorb it, and it apparently provides a negative charge, so it bonds to negative isotopes. And, this is crazy: it also helps clean heavy metals out of your body.”

On sunbathing her private parts:

“Another thing I like to do is give my vagina a little vitamin D. I was reading an article written by an herbalist I studied about yeast infections and other genital issues. She said there’s nothing better than vitamin D. If you’re feeling depleted, go in the sun for an hour and see how much energy you get. Or, if you live in a place that has heavy winters, when the sun finally comes out, spread your legs and get some sunshine.”

On hair maintenance:

“When it was long, I used shampoo from Living Libations, but now it’s really short. I only shampoo it like once a month—the oilier, the better.”
