The commercial airplane disappeared on March 8 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China with 239 passengers and crew on board.

Consequently, the investigation has shifted focus to the passengers and crew on board MH370. Malaysian police have searched the homes of the pilot and co-pilot.
