4.4 Earthquake Hits Los Angeles

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.4 shallow earthquake near Los Angeles at 6:25 a.m. Monday morning. The earthquake had been initially estimated at 4.7 magnitude.

The epicenter was five miles deep and was situated approximately six miles north of Westwood and 15 miles west-northwest of downtown Los Angeles. No immediate damage was reported.
