Andrea Michelle Cardosa, a 40-year-old former teacher, was taken into custody on a $5 million arrest warrant.

Cardosa admitted to police that the abuse started when her accuser was just 14 years old, according to the Daily Mail.

She is charged with 16 felony counts of child abuse, including “aggravated sexual assault on a child under the age of 14” and “lewd acts on a child 14 or 15 years of age while the defendant is at least 10 years older than the victim,” among others.

“The five aggravated sexual assault on a child counts carry potential life sentences should Cardosa be convicted,” the Riverside County District Attorney said in a press release Monday.

In the video, Carillo contacts her alleged abuser whom she identifies as Cardosa, telling her that she “ruined her childhood."
