South Korean tech giant Samsung announced its two newest entries in its Galaxy phone and Galaxy Gear smartwatch lines on Monday.

The Galaxy S5, which will be released worldwide on April 11, will feature Android 4.4 KitKat and a redesigned and subdued TouchWiz interface.

The S5 will also feature upgraded specs compared to its S4, including a new camera feature, a fingerprint scanner, and a new dust and waterproof case.

Prices for the S5 have not been released.

Samsung also announced the newest addition to its Gear smartwatch line. The Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo look similar to the original Galaxy Gear smartwatch, but specs are marginally improved.

One major difference in the new Gear smartwatches is Samsung's decision to switch from Android to an open source operating system.
