Metal band front man Tim Lambesis pleaded guilty Tuesday to a murder-for-hire plot involving his estranged wife, Meggan.

He is facing nine years in prison and a $10,000 fine, according to Loudwire.

Lambesis was arrested last May after he solicited an undercover officer to kill his estranged wife, according to MTV.com.

Fans took to the As I Lay Dying Facebook page to voice their disbelief, according to NBC San Diego.

"I just don't understand why he'd do that," said fan Kendra Diane Bachert on the Facebook page.
