Following the life-threatening shooting, Emily has fully recovered, at least mentally. Nolan visits her in the hospital wearing a wild jacket. He tells her that Aiden is handling the news of her weakened state poorly.

Emily feels that she's failed her mission and tells Nolan she doesn't want to go back to the Hampton's. She's experienced so much pain, and it seems to be never ending. "I just have to get out of here, out of the Hamptons," says Emily. No wiser words have ever been spoken! Though it doesn't seem things will actually unfold this way. To refresh yourself on last week's episode, click here

Aiden wants Niko (the mysterious nurse) to sneak Emily out of the hospital. He looks at Niko with intimate eyes- it's unclear what their relationship is, and where her allegiances lay. The doctors tell Victoria Emily can leave the hospital, but will need to be under round the clock care. She says Emily is expected to make a full recovery, both physically and mentally. Though for now, Emily doesn't remember who shot her- information Victoria clearly wants to exploit.

Daniel is increasingly annoying and disgusting. He shows up to the Stowaway where Sara is working again. "You should be by your wife's side, not mine," Sara says. She tells him she didn't try to commit suicide at all- she was drunk and accidentally fell asleep in the bathtub. Finding Daniel in the bar, Jack is outraged and punches Daniel in the face. A wonderful moment for Jack!

Niko offers to accompany Emily to Grayson Manor and care for her there until she's recovered. Victoria agrees- this is her strategy to keep Emily under her control. Emily wakes up with horror realizing she's in Grayson Manor. She feels like a captive and powerless, at least initially.

We quickly learn the mysterious nurse Niko is Takeda's daughter! She reveals her identity to Emily in private. She's under the impression her father was killed by a random burglar. She has a tattoo on her forearm in her father's honor, just like Em.

Niko confronts Emily about her mission, challenging her not to give up. She tips off Emily that Victoria and Patrick are about to uncover her infinity box. Emily reveals her weakness saying she feels she's already lost and should have been on an island by now with Aiden, her love. Hearing that Emily and Aiden are engaged makes Niko visibly jealous. Once Niko finds out that Emily is engaged to Aiden, however, her interest in helping Em heal and escape is squashed. She punches Emily in the gut and deserts her at the manor. It seems she was always jealous of her father's affection for Emily and relationship with Aiden pushes her over the edge.

At their art gallery, Victoria confesses to Patrick that it was Daniel and not Lydia who shot Emily. He's blindsided and extremely angry she lied to him. "I gave Nolan up for you", Patrick says. He accuses her of clearly separating her sons based on favoritism. "You chose your blood over your bastard!" he shouts at Victoria who slaps him hard across the face.

Nolan's swimming in the ocean when Patrick appears on the beach. He tells him he's realized what a bitch Victoria truly is. They set up a dinner date.

Charlotte arranges to help Jack and Baby Carl visit Emily in secret. Charlotte is being a very good sister these days. Baby Carl has reappeared and is adorable! Jack and Emily chat for a brief time before Charlotte comes back to say Victoria's on her way. Baby Carl drops his stuffed dog and Jack says Emily should keep it while she recovers.

Victoria comes to visit Emily in her room alone and delivers unspeakably cruel news. Victoria says that during Emily's coma it was decided she had to have a hysterectomy. She's been sterilized and will never be able to conceive. Em is mortified and stricken.

Patrick tries to make sure Nolan is drunk enough on martinis not to notice him sneaking around. Fortunately Nolan has switched martinis for water. Unfortunately, Patrick doesn't care and resorts to hitting Nolan over the head with a brick. CLEARLY Victoria's child, Patrick steals the infinity box and takes it directly to Victoria.

Daniel goes to visit Sara and tells her the truth about Emily and her fake pregnancy. Sara is so sorry for Daniel's loss, and softens toward him instantly.

Victoria pours over the infinity box with great  interest, learning that Emily has been lusting after Daniel for years. (The contents of the box were switched out by Nolan, and set up intentionally to misdirect Victoria). Emily finds Victoria with the infinity box and admits that indeed she has been trying to win Daniel for years- a money-hungry young woman eager for the Hampton's lifestyle. It's a story Victoria is quick to believe, since it is after all what Victoria did with Conrad.

Margaux has become a fascinating and important character in the show. A strong female with - refreshingly- a strong ethical compass. Daniel's pushing her to run a story focused on Lydia's vengeful return to commit murder in the Hamptons. Of course this is a cover for himself- and she suspects this. Though he tells her Lydia fired the shots, and that they must run the story immediately, she listens to cautions from Jack and decides to hold the story instead. Jack tells her that Daniel fired the shots. Margaux is stunned, but respects his input and vows to dig deeper.

Back at Grayson Manor, Emily summons the press and tells them Lydia shot her. Victoria and Daniel look on with skeptical eyes. They realize she's made the announcement in order to "save" Daniel from police prosecution and remain within the Grayson inner circle. She says that she and her husband are offering a $10 million reward for Lydia's capture.

Emily communicates with Nolan through a walkie talkie hidden within Baby Carl's stuffed dog. They are so smart and sneaky! Nolan tells Em he's planning to tell Patrick the truth about Victoria- what could this mean? Bianca, the Grayson's maid helps Emily walk over to her beach house and fetch some of her personal belongings. While Bianca's upstairs, Aiden appears on the porch to meet in secret with Em. He embraces her tenderly, but she turns away. She explains to him that they've taken away her ability to have children and she now realizes that she must stay in the Hampton's indefinitely. "This is my future, Aiden," she tells him. "I know I promised you a different one, but I was wrong to."

Em says she told the press Lydia was the shooter because it's the only way to stay close to the Graysons. She ends her relationship with Aiden right there on the porch of the beach house. He is visibly devastated, telling her how selfish she is. We learn that Aiden left Niko in Japan with a promise to return. She loves him and has hoped he still loves her. Standing in Takeda's former residence (where he was murdered), Niko retraces the steps of the room trying to make sense of his murder. Meeting Emily has reinvigorated her desire to seek revenge for her own father's death. She and Aiden begin a steamy make out. Of course she has no idea Aiden killed her father.

Margaux is furious with Jack for ruining her story. Jack is shocked that Emily lied to the press about who shot her. He promises Margaux not to fall for Emily's stories again. She accepts his apology, saying the Voulez story about Lydia as the shooter is about to go to press, so everything's OK.

It appears however that Conrad has another idea. He pays off Margaux's assistant and launches a secret plan to change the story.

In a final scene, Victoria sits in her brand new throne in Grayson Manor between Emily and Daniel on either side of her. Emily says she forgives Daniel for shooting her. She's sorry for lying about the baby, but refuses to leave. "I like the lifestyle," she proclaims. Victoria accepts this declaration, saying she's lived in a loveless marriage for her entire life. Daniel is seething, shocked that Emily has tricked him like this. Surely he thought he would be free to move on to Sara. But of course, Emily has other plans.
